What (if any) books would you ban from a high school library? Are there certain subjects that you feel are inappropriate for teenagers regardless of literary merit?

View 1455 Answers

I don't think that school libraries should have an erotica section, because that's what the Internet is for. But other than that, I don't think there's anything inappropriate for teenagers. Kids these days are so desensitized that I don't think there's anything that a normal school library would carry that could cause so much damage that it would need to be banned.

How could the way we eat improve in the future?

Presented by Intel, Sponsors of Tomorrow.

I think the way we eat will become more efficient in the future. Most people will just eat artificially flavored nutrition bars. Real food will become a niche market, and the "slow food" movement will become even more of a fringe group.

It will be like Soylent Green, only out of desire rather than scarcity. As our world becomes more fast-paced we will become more apathetic about taste.

Edward Cullen is not a vampire, he's a pussy.

I will take Spike.

Do you think animals have a sense of humor?

I know cats do. Cats have a very mean sense of humor. They find the suffering and struggle of others very amusing. When you're sick or you fall on your ass (sorry Mychael!) they just stare at you with their eyes narrowed, silently mocking.

IDK about other animals.

When I was eight, and Pocahontas was in theaters, my local grocery store had a sweepstakes to win a four-foot-high stuffed version of the raccoon from the movie. You best believe I won that shit. I put my name in when my mom wasn't looking, and she didn't know about it until we got the call that I won. She was unbelievably angry, but she let me keep it. It was awesome.

I always liked Beauty and the Beast most of all, and not just because of the Disney movie (although it had a lot to do with it.) My mom rented me Cocteau's version once when I was sick, and I loved it. IDK, it's just my all-around favorite. Does this mean I'm destined for an abusive relationship?
